Change is good...a little TOO good.

After having 5 kids, I was beginning to feel my age.  I looked in the mirror and saw an old hag.  I knew I was still young, but for some reason I just didn't feel it.  I needed a new look.

And just like that....I became a blond!  Rainer is going to DIE!

I bought myself a brand new sexy dress to go with my sexy new look...

And then I waited on the bed for Rainer to get home from the base.  He had been promoted to Astronaut and I hadn't seen him in weeks.  He came home and didn't even get out of his uniform.  I don't think he spoke much either.  He was speechless.

He threw me onto the bed and......

Got down to business!  He may be the astronaut in this family, but that night was 'out of this world' for me!

What is that saying....with great change comes great responsibility?  No wait I think it's 'with great power'.  Oh well, either way....that night led to a big change...baby Emaline!

Carson was still a moody, obnoxious teen.

Darla and Dixie were sweet as ever but thick as thieves the two of them!

Our annual family portrait.  From left to right, Ashlyn, myself holding Emaline, Rainer, Carson, Dixie and Darla.

FINALLY!  Is it wrong that I couldn't wait for Carson to become a man?  His teen angst was really getting on my nerves.  When he finally grew into a young adult, I was relieved!  Now if I can just get him to go to college!  He told me he has started an internet company though...and doesn't plan to go to college.  *sigh*  He calls it SimSpace.com....I think it's going to be a flop myself, but what do I know?  I'm just a romance novelist slash mom of 6.

Darla and Dixie were growing up fast, a little too fast.  Darla had taken a turn and become more tame while Dixie seemed to be dressing provocatively and really just getting into boys.  They were pretty self-sufficient though, and both made good grades so I couldn't complain.  Darla was planning to get a business degree and Dixie was wanting to go into the music business.

Darla and Dixie adored their baby sister Emaline.  They sent alot of time teaching her things, taking care of her, they were like mini-moms!  I was beginning to feel out of touch with the older kids, so I decided to check in on all of them and see how they're doing.  Carson's internet company was a HIT and he ended up moving out on his own...to a really nice house!  I guess I was wrong about him!
